This beauty is made of Damascus Steel, where the layers in the steel are alternating layers of high carbon and low carbon steel. The forging process creates 172 layers that give the metal a distinctive grain, almost like wood, only black and silver.
The steel has been hardened to a Rockwell 56, which is just about perfect for a durable edge that you can resharpen without special equipment. A hollow grind and acute finishing grind make this knife very sharp. To top it all off, the cutting edge has been stropped to be shaving sharp.
The handle on these knives are made of local maple knotwood selected for high contrast and outstanding grain pattern. These are a one of a kind knives.
This listing is for one knife with sheath. While I still have them both, you can get the matched set, but order right away if you want the matched set, I expect these to move quickly.
